Our Mission
Our mission is to support veterans in the Greater Wausau Area by creating a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and care.
Through weekly coffee gatherings, shared meals, and access to helpful resources, we offer veterans a place to belong, find support, and know they are not alone.
Weekly Cup-of-Coffee
A welcoming place for veterans to meet, visit, and dine if you wish.
The Weekly Cup of Coffee is a standing weekly gathering for veterans of all ages and eras. Every Wednesday morning, veterans come together to enjoy coffee and camaraderie in a relaxed, respectful environment.
Meetings are held at Denny’s in Rothschild, where the space is proudly decorated with permanent veteran displays, including the U.S. flag, our group banner, and photos of local veterans.

How It Works (What to Expect)

When you arrive at Denny’s, let the host know you’re there for the Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffee. You’ll be directed to the reserved seating area.
Returning veterans- grab a coffee and have a seat!

If it’s your first time, you’ll be introduced to one our members, who will help you get set up as a member if you wish to join. The only requirement is that you are a veteran.

Meetings typically begin with the Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance led by the Chaplain, followed by brief announcements or meeting updates.

Denny’s offers a veteran discount during the meeting for veterans to purchase their own coffee and meal. Occasionally, coffee is sponsored by a local business or community member.

Meals are delivered every Wednesday
Volunteer drivers deliver meals directly to the veterans’ homes

How to Request Meals or Make a Referral
Supporting veterans and their families through care, connection and a warm meal.
The Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffee Meal Delivery Program provides free meals to veterans with limited mobility or transportation and veterans in need, along with their caregivers and spouses, delivered directly to their homes in the Greater Wausau area. This program exists to ensure that veterans who are unable to attend weekly gatherings can still receive nourishment, support, and appreciation for their service.
Over the past three and a half years, the organization has donated more than 4,500 meals to local veterans and their families.
Who the Program Is For
Veterans who can benefit from meal delivery
Veterans who rely on a caregiver
Wausau-area veterans in need of meal support
Veterans who have limited mobility or transportation, either temporarily or permanently
Veterans who come to a meeting with a caregiver or driver may also enjoy a free meal at the weekly Wednesday gathering at Denny’s with approval. Please reach out to Mike for more details (715) 846-0166.
